Murder of 20-year-old Gennaro Ramondino in Pianura, immediate trial for three members of the death squad: the young man killed due to differences over drug trafficking.

Less than two months after the capture of the accomplices of the baby killer PI, the presumed perpetrator of the murder of twenty-year-old Gennaro Ramondino, the Naples Prosecutor's Office is speeding up the process.
The preliminary investigations judge, Leda Rossetti, as Il Roma anticipated, has set the start of the immediate trial for March 4th against three alleged members of the gang led by the young boss Massimiliano Santagata.
Present in the courtroom will be the collaborator of justice Domenico Di Napoli, Paolo Equabile and Nunzio Rizzo, all accused of having participated in the destruction and concealment of the body of the young man killed on September 1st.
The tragic night of the crime
Ramondino, originally from Fuorigrotta, was murdered in the basement of Via Comunale Napoli in Pianura, a place used as a base for drug dealing. According to the investigations of the District Anti-Mafia Directorate (Dda), the twenty-year-old was reportedly eliminated due to disagreements over the management of drug sales.
The killer, a 16-year-old boy from the Traiano district, allegedly used a gun stolen from an apartment owned by Di Napoli, without the latter's knowledge, at least according to statements made to the police.
The role of the accused
Although not involved in the material execution of the murder, Equabile and Rizzo are accused of having voluntarily participated in the phase following the crime, contributing to the transportation and destruction of the body. Ramondino's body was burned in Torre Poerio using a Fiat Panda belonging to the victim. According to reconstructions, it was Di Napoli who set the fire, which is why he is currently detained on charges of aiding and abetting and destroying the body.
Intercepted conversations
The accusations are supported by some wiretaps. In a conversation with Ramondino's uncle, Rizzo allegedly admitted to having witnessed the events of the tragic night, declaring: "Genny did not deserve to end up like that." However, the DDA maintains that Rizzo and Equabile's involvement in the concealment phase was conscious and without coercion.
Investigations and other responsibilities
The investigation, conducted by the Flying Squad, also involved four other suspects linked to the drug dealing area. Cristian Cacace, nicknamed “Capellone”, allegedly purchased the gasoline used for the fire, while Luciano Ivone, nicknamed “Ciù ciù”, allegedly cleaned up the premises of the crime.
For both, however, the investigating judge rejected the request for arrest. The statements of the owner of a Toyota, used to reach the countryside where the body was destroyed, were decisive for the development of the investigation. The man, suspicious of a strong smell of gasoline inside the vehicle at the time of its return, collaborated with the investigators, providing crucial information.
While we await the start of the trial, the Ramondino case remains one of the many episodes that shed light on the alarming involvement of very young people in criminal dynamics linked to drug dealing and mafia violence.
