An animal rights volunteer reported on social media the discovery of a real dog concentration camp in a private garden in Lettere: dozens of animals were apparently abandoned to themselves, dying of hunger and thirst.
According to the woman's story, the landowner had terminated the contract with the person caring for the animals, leaving them without food or water.

The Aidaa Association announced it had filed a complaint, emphasizing the gravity of the situation and calling for clarification of what happened. The mayor of Lettere, Anna Amendola, expressed her deep shock and assured that the municipal administration would monitor the matter with the utmost attention.
The incident sparked public outrage, once again bringing the issue of animal abuse and the need for harsher penalties for those guilty of such crimes to the forefront of the debate.
