NAPLES – The escalators of the Ventaglieri Park, returning to the citizens a completely renovated and functional structure: the Municipality of Naples announced this with an official note.
Located in the heart of the neighborhood Montesanto, the Ventaglieri Park represents a point of reference for the area, connecting the lower part of the neighborhood with the areas of Piazza Gesù and Maria e piazza Mazzini. Inside there is a soccer field, large green areas and a building intended for public functions. The complex is served by an elevator and ten escalators, whose replacement was necessary due to the expiry of the technical life of the systems.
The works, which began in March 2024, required considerable technical and logistical commitment, as highlighted by Palazzo San Giacomo: “The accessibility and movement of the systems represented a complex challenge, overcome thanks to the professionalism of the technicians involved”. After the completion of the works last November, Ansfisa (the National Agency for the Safety of Railways and Road and Motorway Infrastructures) carried out the acceptance tests, granting the go-ahead on 9 January 2025.
The Councillor for Mobility, Edoardo Cosenza, expressed satisfaction with the result achieved: “I am extremely happy to announce the reopening of the escalators in Parco Ventaglieri. This infrastructure not only facilitates travel, but also represents a symbol of our commitment to increasingly sustainable mobility. I thank all those who contributed to this project. I am certain that these escalators will improve accessibility and further enhance one of the most beautiful parks in our city”.
