Serious road accident this afternoon in Naples, in via Giordano Bruno where an Eav bus hit a pedestrian of about 60 years old, who, according to an initial reconstruction, suddenly invaded the roadway.
The man was rushed to the hospital in red code. The news was confirmed by Umberto de Gregorio, president of Eav, which he declared on social media.
“The investigations are ongoing, but it seems that the pedestrian suddenly crossed the road, ending up against the bus. We hope that his health conditions are not serious”.
De Gregorio also expressed his closeness to the driver of the vehicle, Luca, hired by the company two years ago: “I spoke to him on the phone to reassure him and assure him of the company’s support. He is deeply shocked by what happened, but he will not be left alone.”
As per protocol, the bus was seized and the driver's license withdrawn, pending the completion of the investigation by the competent authorities.
