On Monday at 10:30 am, at the “Toti-Borsi-Giurleo” Comprehensive Institute in via Cupa San Pietro, in the Neapolitan neighborhood of Ponticelli, the mural created by the artist Alex Shot together with the students of the institute will be inaugurated.
The work, dedicated to Santo Romano, a young innocent victim of criminal violence, was made possible thanks to the generous donation of the building contractor Bartolomeo Impegno, who has long been engaged in the front line in the fight against racketeering by signing several anti-racket agreements with Sos Impresa.
The event will be attended, in addition to the mother of Holy Roman, the school principal Chiara Schiavo, a representation of the students involved in the creation of the mural and the managers of Sos Impresa Rete per la Legalità, who supported and coordinated the entire initiative.
The tragedy has deeply shaken the entire community. The mural was created not only to remember a young man taken from life too soon, but above all to send a strong message of rebirth, of the fight against crime and of hope for the young people of the area.
The president of Sos Impresa, Anna Ferrara, wanted to express her heartfelt thanks to Leonardo Impegno and the entire school community: “This mural is not only a work of art, but a concrete symbol of rebirth and redemption for the entire neighborhood”.
The school principal, Chiara Schiavo, underlined the educational value of the initiative: “Those who grow up in the suburbs often believe that nothing can change, but this project shows that with collaboration and heart, things can be transformed. Our kids had the opportunity to be protagonists of a real change, learning that even a small gesture can become a great symbol of hope.”
The entrepreneur Bartolomeo Impegno, who financially supported the creation of the mural, added: “For years I have been involved in the fight against racketeering and I support the initiatives of Sos Impresa because I firmly believe that only with culture and beauty can we fight crime”.
The mural, depicting a rainbow and many happy children, represents the right of every young person to grow up in a peaceful and safe environment, far from the shadows of crime. The heart drawn in the center, dedicated to Santo Romano, symbolizes the love and commitment needed to build a better future.

It's beautiful to see how art can unite people and bring hope. But I wonder if this mural can actually change things in the lives of those who live in these areas. Violence is a complex problem.
