Last night, in the Rione Vasto neighborhood, an episode of robbery occurred against a bar tobacconist. The State Police arrested a 30-year-old man, accused of aggravated robbery.
While patrolling Piazza Principe Umberto, officers from the General Prevention Office observed a man calling for help while chasing another individual with several packs of cigarettes in his hand. The suspicious scene prompted the police to intervene promptly.
After on-site checks, it emerged that the fugitive had shortly before entered a commercial establishment in the area, armed with a box cutter. Using the weapon, he had threatened the owner and had him hand over several cartons of cigarettes, fleeing soon after. i
The officers managed to stop the man, finding him in possession of a screwdriver and the cutter used to commit the robbery. The thirty-year-old Neapolitan was then arrested by the police who intervened.
