Naples - "Reducing the Tari tax is one of our goals, but to do so we must, on the one hand, reduce tax evasion—and we are doing so—and on the other, have a more economical waste management cycle."
The mayor of Naples explained it, Gaetano Manfredi, on the sidelines of the City Council meeting which has on its agenda the discussion of the 2025-2027 budget forecast.
Manfredi recalled that "our waste management cycle is very expensive due to the lack of facilities in Campania because much of the material is transported outside the region," and emphasized that "our goal is not only to ensure more efficient collection.
But above all, having an integrated cycle that manages both the secondary material of the differentiated waste, and therefore also the organic waste, and the undifferentiated waste more efficiently is a prerequisite for reducing the Tari because the current law requires that the entire cost be passed on to users".

I don't really understand why we can't reduce the TARI if there are already so many problems with waste in Campania. We need a simpler and more practical solution that works better for everyone.
