Tragic epilogue for Emilio D'Adamo, a sixty-year-old worker from Roccasecca who disappeared on Monday, January 6, the day of the Epiphany. After days of incessant searches, his body was found charred inside his car, a black Fiat Punto, in a quarry near Colle San Magno, in the province of Frosinone.
The search was started immediately by the family, who had launched an appeal on social media to find him. In the following days, the man's cell phone was located in the Pietramelara area, in Alto Casertano, prompting rescuers to concentrate in that area.
The dramatic discovery was made thanks to the report of some passers-by, who noticed the burned car and alerted the Carabinieri of the Pontecorvo company. The military, arriving on the scene, carried out the first surveys, confirming the identity of the victim.
According to what has emerged, it could be an extreme gesture. On D'Adamo's social profile, the day of his disappearance, a message appeared that left friends and family shocked:
“Today is a hard day. Forgive me, but I am tired. I ask forgiveness from my children for not having been a better father and not having given them more, but that is who I am. I ask forgiveness from my wife, but I am tired. I want to rest in peace. Goodbye.”
Investigations are still ongoing to clarify the circumstances of the tragedy. In the meantime, the community of Roccasecca is rallying around the family, shocked by the pain of this loss.
