Naples – Friends and supporters of Roberto De Simone, famous Neapolitan musicologist, are in a state of alert following the news of his recent hospitalization.
The maestro, who turned 91, had been suffering from respiratory problems caused by the flu. His health problems led doctors to recommend hospitalization, which occurred after he visited the emergency room on Monday evening, and yesterday he was transferred to the ward.
His condition does not appear to be serious, however his advanced age and recent ailments raise concerns among his loved ones, in particular his nephew Alessandro, a musician and teacher at San Pietro a Majella, now the centre of attention of the many enthusiasts of the maestro, whose activities and works have become rarer over time.
