ROMITO is a Neapolitan band that combines folk, indie and electropop influences with the Neapolitan language. Born in 2017, the group aims to revolutionize the local musical tradition with new ways of writing, composing and arranging.

The Debut
In 2018, the first single titled “Viern,” was released under the SoundFly label, with the artistic production of Massimo De Vita (Blindur). Immediately after the debut at the San Carluccio theater in Naples, the band expanded its presence with performances in numerous clubs and theaters in Southern Italy.
Awards and Recognitions
The first EP, “Majorana”, arrives in January 2019, preceded by the single “Cosa 'e Niente”. The single contributes to the affirmation of the band in the Italian music scene, allowing them to reach the semifinal of the Premio De André and win the Musica contro le Mafie award, with performances during the Sanremo Festival 2020.
New Productions
In 2020, ROMITO released the single “Si è l'Ammore”, while in 2021 the group participated in “Napoli Suona Ancora”. The video clip of “Si è l'Ammore” was selected among the best of the year at the 2022 Ariano International Film Festival.
Future Projects
The band returns to the studio in 2023 to work on the album “Post Tarantella”, with the production of Carlo De Luca, guitarist of the group. The album, recorded and mixed at Soundinside Basement Records, will be presented on January 31, 2025 at the Trianon Viviani theater in Naples. While waiting for the release, the first single “Verimmo Che Succere” will be available from January 10, 2025 on all digital platforms.

I read about the band ROMITO and I think it's interesting how they manage to mix different musical genres. However, I wonder if their music will be able to attract a wider audience, not only in Campania but also elsewhere.
It's true, the fusion of folk and indie with electropop is an innovative idea. It will be interesting to see how they evolve over time and if they can maintain their musical identity.
