An episode of violence between homeless youths this morning on the Trieste seafront Salerno, where an argument between three young people turned into an assault that culminated in the stabbing of a 21-year-old Italian.
The police quickly intervened on the scene to manage a situation that, according to what emerged from the investigation, was not a surprise attack but an altercation between individuals already known to each other.
The incident occurred near the public toilets shortly after 8 a.m. The police, who intervened promptly, were able to reconstruct the dynamics of the accident thanks also to a report sent to the emergency number 112 by a citizen.
After identifying and arresting the attacker, a Bangladeshi citizen, the officers took him to the police station for further investigation.
The three young people involved, two Italians and one foreigner, are homeless and knew each other, a relevant element also underlined by the police commissioner of Salerno, Giancarlo Conticchio, who specified that the attack was not random. The stabbed man, taken to the hospital, is not in danger of life. Investigations are ongoing to clarify the reasons that led to the fight that resulted in the violent episode.
