Salerno - Two individuals, a 20-year-old and a minor, were arrested yesterday by the Flying Squad of the Salerno Police Headquarters on charges of aggravated fraud against an elderly woman.
But also resisting a public official and aggravated assault against a police officer.
The alarm was raised by the Operations Room after a report of a green Alfa Romeo Junior suspected of carrying individuals implicated in scams targeting the elderly. Thanks to the prompt intervention of the Flying Squad's "Falchi" patrol, the car was located on Via Fra' Generoso, near the A3 motorway towards Naples.

During an attempted arrest, an officer was wounded in the right hand, with injuries that were deemed curable in seven days. Despite the attempted escape, law enforcement was able to capture the two suspects.
Following the search, gold jewelry, a bank card, and €550 in cash were found, linking the two young men to the incident that had occurred shortly before. Investigations conducted by the Flying Squad, corroborated by the victim's testimony, revealed that the scam was carried out via a phone call from an impostor posing as a Carabinieri officer. The elderly woman, led to believe her son had caused an accident, was persuaded to hand over the gold and cash under the pretext of covering alleged urgent legal expenses.
The twenty-year-old was arrested and transferred to the local prison pending validation of the arrest, while the minor was reported at liberty to the competent Public Prosecutor's Office at the Juvenile Court and entrusted to the care of his mother.
