Yesterday evening, the Carabinieri of the San Nicola La Strada Station, in collaboration with the military of the Operations Section of the Caserta Company, conducted a targeted operation against drug trafficking at the municipal villa located near Viale Carlo III di Borbone. The operation led to the arrest of three men, a Guinean citizen and two Gambians, all between the ages of 25 and 29.
The individuals, found to be irregular on the national territory and already known to the police for previous drug-related crimes, were caught red-handed while selling doses of hashish to four young people from the Caserta area, near large Rotonda. The timely intervention of the military made it possible to stop both the alleged dealers and the buyers, who were subsequently identified and reported to the prefecture for the expected administrative sanctions.
The subsequent personal search revealed further doses of hashish and a sum of 130 euros in cash, divided into small denomination banknotes, believed to be the proceeds of the illicit activity. During the control, the three arrested showed nervous and resistant attitudes, circumstances that strengthened the suspicions of the investigators.
The drugs and money were seized. After the formal procedures, the three men were transferred to the Santa Maria Capua Vetere prison, at the disposal of the judicial authorities.

It's incredible how in a small town like this there are so many drug problems. I don't know if the operation is enough to stop the traffic but it is a step forward. Let's hope the authorities continue to work.
