An operation by the Carabinieri Forestali of marcianise led to the seizure of a truck, an agricultural area of approximately 4.000 square meters and a significant quantity of special waste, as part of an activity to combat environmental crimes.
The blitz was launched along the Provincial Road 231, where the military identified a truck with a cargo bed full of grass clippings and prunings, parked inside a closed-off area. The driver of the vehicle was identified as the legal representative of a company active in the general cleaning of buildings, but not specialized in waste management.
The investigations revealed that the truck had a suspended waste transport permit. Furthermore, there were several piles of vegetable waste inside the agricultural area, thus constituting an uncontrolled storage of special waste.
Consequently, the Carabinieri Forestali proceeded to seize the vehicle, the waste and the land, while the owner of the company was reported at large to the competent Judicial Authority for illegal management of special waste.
The operation is part of a broader plan of controls for environmental protection and the repression of waste-related crimes, with the aim of combating the phenomenon of illegal disposal, which is particularly widespread in the area.
