The traditional "Fucarazzo" of Sant'Antonio Abate, the animal fair, the rediscovery of ancient arts and crafts, and the unmissable Porchetta Festival, now in its 47th edition. Between faith and folklore, Sant'Antonio Abate will host nine days dedicated to the traditions of the town, celebrating the patron saint who gives his name to the town. From January 11th to 19th, music, shows, folklore, and entertainment will be available. Sant'Antonio Abate It will come alive as every year, with a rich calendar of events around the fire ritual.
“We will relive our history, our culture and our most authentic traditions – says Ilaria Abagnale, mayor of Sant'Antonio Abate – bringing the event that more than any other celebrates the intangible heritage of our country back to its roots, with ancient animal fairs, re-enactments of arts and crafts, tastings and the cult of the Patron Saint. Everything will be accompanied by a calendar of shows for everyone”.
The 47th edition of the Sagra della Porchetta, organized in collaboration with the Pro Loco Paese Mio, will delight visitors with its unmistakable aromas among the stands of Largo Sandro Pertini, set up to welcome the artisan and vintage markets, shows, music, comedy and the unique taste offered by the porchettari, true protagonists of the Abate tradition for almost half a century.
Of course, the celebration for Sant'Antonio Abate also means “'O Fucarazzo 'e Sant'Antuono”, which this year includes a photographic exhibition that will allow you to visit the area for three days: starting from January 13, the doors of the area in via Lettere n.158 will be open, where it will be possible to witness the final stages of the preparation of the “cippo” and to admire the historical shots dedicated to the “Fucarazzo”, in view of the artistic lighting on January 16, to the rhythm of fireworks and music.
During the various evenings, there will be alternating shows by Tony Tammaro, Andrea Sannino, Rosario Miraggio, Alessio, i Bottari, Zero Negativo, Tarantella Dance and Rosalia Porcaro.
