Weather Alert Friday 17 schools closed at all levels in Caserta, San Nicola la Strada, Capua and San Marco Evangelista: the ordinances.
For tomorrow, Friday 17 January, the mayor of Caserta Marino has ordered the closure of all municipal parks and public villas with prohibition on entry for all citizens, as well as the city cemeteries.
The ordinance was made necessary because the current and forecasted weather phenomena entail a high risk of falling trees, branches, cornices, billboards and other movable objects, with consequent possible damage to the safety of the population and urban traffic.
In particular, the situation could represent a danger for school children, considering the travel to and from schools, as well as for the performance of normal educational activities in person. The provision signed by the Mayor then orders the managers of the various Sectors of the Authority to monitor any critical situations that may arise in school facilities and public areas under their jurisdiction.
Inspections are also recommended on all municipal property, including trees and street lamps, to ensure public and private safety.

Furthermore, all owners of private areas and entities owning public areas are required to urgently carry out an inspection of all the assets under their respective jurisdiction, on all trees to verify any damage or dangers to public and private safety.
Finally, the Municipality invites the population to comply with the behavioral rules of prudence and caution provided in the event of a weather alert for adverse weather conditions, in particular for the significant phenomenon of strong winds, with gusts of considerable intensity.
Schools are also closed in San Nicola la Strada: "The strong gusts of wind forecast for tomorrow, Friday, January 17, require a new ordinance closing all public and private schools of all levels, as well as the civic cemetery and municipal villas," announced Mayor Vito Marotta.
In Capua, schools will be closed on January 17th and 18th, as announced by Mayor Adolfo Villani: "Considering the widespread risk situation due to the weather alert issued today by the Campania Region Civil Protection Department, due to adverse weather conditions, particularly winds and sea conditions, forecast from 00:00 AM to 23:59 PM tomorrow, Friday, January 17, 2025, with Mayoral Ordinance No. 4, I have ordered the closure of all schools of all levels, including public and private nursery schools and preschools, as well as cemeteries, throughout the municipality for Friday, January 17th and Saturday, January 18th." Schools will also be closed in San Marco Evangelista.
The mayor of Salerno instead closes parks and cemeteries, but leaves schools open.
It is also advisable not to access public beaches, as well as to permanently secure or remove from windows and balconies mobile elements such as plants, roofs, temporary structures or any object that can be carried away by the wind. Finally, observe particular caution when moving, limiting it to what is strictly necessary.
