Salerno – Police Chief Giancarlo Conticchio has ordered the eight-day closure of a well-known nightclub on the Salerno coast, applying Article 100 of the Consolidated Law on Public Safety. The measure was motivated by serious problems of public order and safety, culminating in an episode that occurred on December 8 during a musical evening dedicated to a predominantly adolescent audience.
That night, a 16-year-old boy was rescued by 118 staff and transported in red code to the Emergency Room of Salerno for serious intoxication caused by alcohol and drugs. The venue, already at the center of reports for similar events in the past, was considered by the Authorities to be a potentially dangerous place for the health and safety of the young patrons.
The agents of the Administrative Police Division notified the closure order with the aim of preventing further episodes of social risk and safeguarding the well-being of minors. “The measure is aimed at eliminating possible sources of danger and preventing situations that could compromise the health and morality of young people,” the Police Chief underlined.
Conticchio also invited citizens, especially parents, to report cases of alcohol administration to minors, also using the YOUPOL application, which allows you to report episodes of social alarm quickly and anonymously.
