Naples - Another shooting in the Spanish Quarter: yesterday afternoon, around 16 p.m., an anonymous tip led law enforcement to Salita Trinità degli Spagnoli, where four shell casings were found.
Despite the absence of injuries, the incident refocuses attention on the resurgence of violence in one of the city's most attractive areas. The investigation, led by the Flying Squad, is focusing on two young men on a scooter who fled after shooting.
The most likely hypothesis is that of intimidation, but it cannot be ruled out that it was a show of force to mark territory.

Yesterday's incident comes amid an already alarming situation. Police are combing through surveillance camera footage and gathering testimonies to identify those responsible and shed light on the motives behind these ongoing shootings.
The criminal escalation apparently stemmed from a trivial dispute between young men over women, which escalated with the involvement of the boys' families, ultimately resulting in a clash between the various Camorra clans that divide up the territory of the Spanish Quarters.

On January 11th, two raids involving gunfire targeted Gaetano Amendola, a 31-year-old local man with no criminal ties. Investigators believe that this case, too, was a case of intimidation, linked to an alleged "slip" or old grudges.
