A phone call to the switchboard had warned of the theft. When the soldiers arrived on site they found that the entrance door of the Banca Popolare Vesuviana had been forced open and then entered inside.

It is truly incredible how such a bold theft can happen in Striano. Bank security should be greater, especially at night. We hope that the carabinieri will be able to find those responsible and that the money will be recovered.
