Teano – Late yesterday evening the Carabinieri of the radiomobile section of the Company of Capua They intervened following a request for help from a couple, a 47-year-old man and his partner.
The two reported that they had been attacked by their neighbor, a 69-year-old man who, during an argument, threatened to shoot them in the legs.
According to the reconstruction, the altercation took place in the street and quickly degenerated, fueled by old tensions related to neighborhood issues. After the fight, while the couple was heading toward their home, a gunshot rang out in the air, coming from the aggressor's house.
Alerted by the couple, the Carabinieri searched the 69-year-old's home. During the search, two illegally held rifles were found and seized: a 28-gauge Beretta hidden under a table in the closet and a 12-gauge Castellani hidden under the double bed
. The latter still gave off a strong odor of gunpowder, an unmistakable sign of recent use. Furthermore, on the bedside table in the same room, a spent cartridge case was found, also with olfactory traces of gunpowder.
The man, initially reticent and ready to deny possession of weapons, was arrested by the Carabinieri. He is now under house arrest on charges of illegal possession of weapons, illegal possession in a public place and aggravated threats. The weapons and ammunition were seized, while investigations continue to clarify further details on the incident.
