The subscription season at the Totò theater continues with the comedy “Prendila così!”, on stage from January 31 to February 9. The show, written by Salvatore Catanese and directed by Ciro Esposito, stars Rosario Minervini and Esposito himself, accompanied by a cast that includes Mattia Ferraro, Lucienne Perreca, Martina Sionne and Carlo Crispo.
A Comedy Between Laughter and Reflections
The play walks a fine line between humor and food for thought, offering the opportunity to explore important themes such as daily difficulties and the barriers, not only physical, that disability can entail. Ciro Esposito's direction describes two brothers, Tommaso and Italo, with completely opposite personalities but united by their embarrassment in relating to their younger brother, Biagio, who is paraplegic.
Challenges and Discoveries
The plot takes place in the family home, now in disrepair, where the brothers try to restore safety and usability. However, Biagio has other priorities, which causes tension and reveals hidden truths. The work manages to tell with irony and lightness, without neglecting the bitter taste of the confrontation with reality and one's own limits. Through the show, the audience is invited to reflect on what it really means to face the challenges of destiny and on the idea of disability, and on how we wear masks to hide our fragilities.

I read the article about the Totò theater and it seems interesting. Salvatore Catanese's comedy could be a good way to reflect on important issues such as disability. I hope the performances live up to expectations.
