The Civil Protection of the Campania Region, in consideration of the evaluations of the Functional Center, has issued a weather alert with hydrogeological criticality for 'Yellow' level storms and a simultaneous warning for strong winds and rough seas, valid from 12 tomorrow, Saturday 11 January, until 12 on Sunday 12 January.
Both warnings concern the entire regional territory. Scattered precipitation is expected, including showers or isolated thunderstorms, even intense. Winds strong easterlies, tending to become locally very strong with possible gusts.
Rough or locally very rough seas, especially along exposed coasts with possible storm surges. The Civil Protection also highlights a "hydrogeological risk with possible scenarios of flooding, overflowing, runoff, landslides and falling rocks linked to fragile soil conditions".
Mayors are advised to activate the Municipal Operations Centers and prepare "all the measures provided for by their respective civil protection plans to mitigate the risks associated with the incoming disturbance". In particular, the need to "monitor public green spaces and the correct maintenance of structures exposed to the stress of winds and wave motion" is highlighted.
