Mondragone – Three pushers were arrested yesterday by the Carabinieri of Mondragone, in via delle Rose after a reckless escape in reverse.
The two men, aged 23 and 44, both from Mondragone, attempted to flee on board their Fiat Panda at the sight of the military. After making a U-turn, the two began to zigzag for about a kilometre, attempting to lose the carabinieri. Their run ended by crashing into the perimeter wall of a house.
Despite the damage to the car, the two pushers continued to flee, heading dangerously towards the car of the police, whose driver managed to avoid the impact with a sudden maneuver.
They also attempted to escape on foot but were caught and arrested
Having reached the intersection with Via Castel Volturno, the two abandoned the Panda, now unusable, and Escaped on foot, climbing over the fences of several houses.
After a long chase, the carabinieri managed to stop them. During the escape, the 23-year-old got rid of a shoulder bag containing 4,75 grams of cocaine, 3 grams of crack, 2 grams of hashish and 985 euros in cash.
The search of the 23-year-old's home led to the discovery and seizure of additional crack for a total weight of 88,25 grams, as well as a precision scale that the 23-year-old's live-in partner, a 22-year-old, had attempted to hide in the garden.
The three were arrested for possession of drugs for the purpose of dealing, and two of them also for resisting a public official. They were then placed under house arrest at their respective homes.
