Torre del Greco. Very serious episode of violence against a nurse attacked by a social health worker. "Taggia teaches how to move a patient?" Then he hit him on the head with several punches and then grabbed him by the neck
Yesterday afternoon, around 15pm, yet another episode of violence against healthcare personnel took place in the Maresca hospital in Greek's tower.
This time it was not a patient or a patient's relatives who raised their hands on a nurse, but a healthcare worker. Yesterday, a 118 ambulance from San Giorgio a Cremano was transporting a person who had been injured in a road accident to the emergency room.
The 118 staff accompanied the patient with their stretcher to the radiology department for routine diagnostics. There, one of the nurses of the 118 crew asked for help from a healthcare worker present in moving the patient from the 118 self-loading trolley to the diagnostic table, but the OSS in question turned to the nurse arrogantly exclaiming: "Taggia Insegna' comm se spost nu pazient?".
Luckily, the other health workers intervened and prevented the violence from erupting, but unfortunately the matter did not end there. Once back in the emergency room, the social health worker, as if wanting to punish the nurse, reached him and attacked him with unheard of violence.
He hit him in the head with several punches and then grabbed him by the neck. The police were immediately alerted and the agents managed to stop the attack.
The victim of the attack was reported and given a three-day prognosis.
The association “Nessuno Tocchi Ippocrate” made the incident known:
“As an association we ask the ASL Napoli 3 sud that the OSS be suspended from service. The aggressions by patients are not enough, our enemy is also at home”

It is really sad that violence has increased so much in hospitals. All health professionals must work in a safe and peaceful environment. I hope the situation improves and that people understand the importance of respect.
