A sudden ammonia leak left him no escape while the other three colleagues managed to save themselves. Now the judicial investigation will establish what happened, and whether they are responsible. In particular whether all safety regulations were respected but also whether the boy was capable of doing that type of work given that he had been employed for only three months.
And then if there was a responsible team leader, if there was a person in charge of safety at work at Frigo Caserta. In short, all the steps to understand where the responsibilities are (because there certainly will be some) for the death of a young man of only 19 years old.
When the autopsy is carried out, the notices of investigation will arrive as a necessary act, then the investigation will continue to dig to the bottom and shed light on this death that to define as absurd is an understatement.
The last thought to his girlfriend on Tiktok
Last night the Carabinieri cordoned off the area where the accident occurred and began listening to the colleagues of 19-year-old Spasiano; he, who had recently been hired, lived in Naples with his parents, and had a girlfriend to whom he had dedicated a thought on TikTok just a few days ago. “I love you,” Patrizio wrote, “we cried together, laughed, joked. She taught me what it means to love. She’s the only one who makes me feel like a child again, the only one with whom I feel like myself.”
The pain of the mayor of Naples, Gaetano Manfredi
The mayor of Naples also intervened on the matter, Gaetano Manfredi: “On behalf of the municipal administration and the entire city of Naples, I express a feeling of great sorrow and the utmost closeness to the family of the young worker from Secondigliano who died in the accident that occurred in Gricignano d'Aversa. Commitment to safety in the workplace must be a priority”.
Arpac has not detected any critical issues in the air
The first investigations of theArpac, the Regional Agency for Environmental Protection of Campania, did not detect critical levels of ammonia or other toxic substances in Gricignano d'Aversa, where yesterday there was a gas leak at the Frigocaserta company following which the 19-year-old worker Patrizio Spasiano died, while three other workers were slightly intoxicated.
After the accident, a situation of alarm and anguish was created among the citizens in the municipality of Gricignano d'Aversa, with the mayor Vittorio Lettieri who yesterday evening issued a contingent and urgent ordinance valid until 19 pm today which invites citizens to avoid gatherings in public places or places open to the public, to limit their stay outdoors, and to use suitable masks to protect the respiratory tract.
