The Documentary and Its Contributions

The documentary aims to reconstruct the story of the famous Neapolitan artist Mario Merola, through testimonies and archive materials that have not been published before. Among those who contributed to the project are well-known names such as Gigi D'Alessio, Nino D'Angelo, and Marisa Laurito, as well as Merola's children, Francesco, Roberto, and Loredana. These voices enrich the story with personal stories and reflections on the cultural heritage left by the great artist.

The Film Production

Produced by Big Sur in collaboration with Rai Documentari and Mad Entertainment, the film is inspired by the book “Napoli solo andata… Il mio lungo viaggio”, written by Mario Merola with Geo Nocchetti. The screenplay is by the director Massimo Ferrari himself together with Luciano Stella. The photography and original music are respectively by Fabio Lanciotti and Vincenzo Foniciello. For further details, the theater box office is open from Monday to Saturday from 10 to 13:30 and from 16 to 19; while on Sundays and holidays, only in the morning.
