The Carabinieri of Sogliano al Rubicone have reported two men, one of whom is a minor, for fraud aggravated in competition. The victim, aelderly of the place, was deceived last April with the well-known technique of the “fake accident” of a family member.
According to the investigation, the old woman had received a phone call from a woman who pretended to be a judicial worker. The scammer had said that the woman's son had been involved in a serious car accident and that a sum of money had to be paid for his immediate release. Convinced of the truthfulness of the story, the victim gave her accomplice about 1.500 euros in cash. Only after contacting her son, a few hours later, did the elderly woman realize she had been defrauded.

Grazie all’incrocio dei dati del contratto di noleggio con altre informazioni raccolte, i Carabinieri hanno identificato i due presunti colpevoli: un 29enne e un 17enne, entrambi residenti a Napoli. La denuncia è stata formalizzata contro i due sospettati, ponendo fine a un episodio che ha scosso la comunità locale.
