Caianello - A 31-year-old Moroccan man wanted for an international fraud involving illegal immigration was arrested last night in a hotel in Caianello, in the province of Caserta.
The arrest was carried out by the Carabinieri of the Vairano Scalo station, who during an evening check identified the man, recipient of an international arrest warrant issued on 25 November 2024 by the court of Salè, Morocco.
The 31-year-old, a regular resident in Italy and in transit on the national territory, was recognized through an accurate cross-referencing of the data present in the databases of the police forces. The charge hanging over his head concerns an episode of fraud relating to illegal immigration from Morocco to Spain, which occurred in 2021.
After being stopped, the man was taken to the barracks for the formal procedures and subsequently transferred to the Santa Maria Capua Vetere prison, where he will remain at the disposal of the competent judicial authority.
