A breathtaking 80-kilometer chase, starting from Piedimonte San Germano, in the province of Frosinone, and ending with a violent crash into a wall near the Town Hall of San Nicola la Strada, on the outskirts of Caserta.
The protagonists of the escape were two men of Neapolitan origin, suspected of having carried out a scam to the detriment of an elderly man in Pontecorvo. Their race, which began after evading a check, turned into a high-speed escape along the highway, with the two hitting several cars and breaking through the barrier of the Caserta Nord toll booth.
After continuing along the Appian Way and Viale Carlo III, the crazy race ended in the centre of San Nicola la Strada, where the car crashed into a building near the Town Hall. The impact caused the airbags to explode and made it impossible for one of the two criminals to continue their escape: wounded in the head and shoulder, he was immediately rescued and taken to the hospital, where he is being guarded by the police. The accomplice, however, managed to escape by limping through the streets of the town.

The news of this chase is really interesting but also worrying. I hope that the authorities can do more to prevent similar incidents. The safety of people must be a priority, and we must not forget the elderly man who was defrauded.
