The program of the eighth edition of TEATRO FORUM has been officially presented. This festival, now a fixed appointment in the cultural panorama, is composed of five meetings focused on different aspects of theater, including dramaturgy, performance and anthropology.
The 2025 edition will focus on the relationship between mask, character and myth, exploring themes such as Greek tragedy, Eleonora Duse and the Commedia dell'Arte.
A Journey Through the Theatre
The meetings will take place at the theater of the Sabatini-Menna Art High School in Salerno, accessible free of charge until all seats are taken. They have been designed for an audience of university students, actors, directors and artists, with the intent of offering thematic insights and opportunities for dialogue with experts in the field.
The Calendar of Meetings
1. Antonio Petito: the mask and the actor – On February 13, Annamaria Sapienza of the University of Salerno will present an exploration of Antonio Petito and the art of the mask.
2. Pulcinella and Don Giovanni in the Commedia dell'Arte – The meeting on March 5 will be led by Pasquale De Cristofaro of the Sabatini-Menna Art School in Salerno, focusing on the emblematic figures of Pulcinella and Don Giovanni.
3. Eleonora Duse, a Diva for the New Millennium – Maria Pia Pagani of the University Federico II of Naples will lead the dialogue on March 20, discussing the legacy and influence of Eleonora Duse.
4. Person, the Mask in the Ancient World – On April 3, Roberto M. Danese of the Carlo Bo University of Urbino will examine the concept of the mask in the context of antiquity.
5. Trachiniae and Filottete by Sophocles – The last meeting, on May 8, will see the director Giovanni Greco present his new translation of the works of Sophocles, offering a direct analysis of the original text. Organized by the ICRA Project of Naples, the initiative is accredited by both the MiC Ministry of Culture and the Campania Region, reinforcing its importance in the Italian theater scene.

The event looks interesting but I don't know if I have time to attend all the meetings. I hope there are recordings or materials available for those who can't make it so they don't miss anything important.
