Benevento, mother and disabled son victims of violence by neighbors

Benevento. A never-ending nightmare became reality for a woman and her disabled minor son from Benevento. The two were subjected to months of harassment, threats, and, finally, physical assault by neighbors.

Yesterday evening, the Police Headquarters' Flying Squad executed an order prohibiting a man and a woman from residing in the municipality, deemed responsible for stalking and injuring the victims.

A daily ordeal

According to the investigations, the life of the woman and her son was transformed into hell. Insults, death threats and intimidating acts were repeated frequently, both inside the building and on the street. The height of violence was reached last December 9, when the disabled child was attacked by the two suspects, who tightened a belt around his neck, causing him injuries.

The nightmare is over

Thanks to the victim's complaint and the testimonies collected, the agents were able to reconstruct a clear and disturbing picture of the violence suffered by the family. The Judge for Preliminary Investigations then ordered the two suspects to stay away from the victim and guarantee her a minimum of peace.

This story, unfortunately not isolated, highlights the importance of reporting any form of violence, especially when the victims are vulnerable people like children.
