The month of celebrations entitled “We Love Enzo” will animate the theatres of Naples to honour the memory of Enzo Moscato, a central figure of contemporary theater, who passed away a year ago. From January 11 to February 1, in nine shows distributed across ten theaters, the city will offer a choral tribute that will transform the entire territory into a widespread stage.

The project will be inaugurated on January 11 and 12 at Officine San Carlo with “Signurì Signurì”, under the direction of Cristina Donadio and Luca Trezza. On January 13, the Sala Assoli, renamed Sala Assoli-Moscato, will become the scene of a day of celebrations in memory of the artist, with photographic exhibitions, screenings and performances.
On January 14 and 15, Giovanni Ludeno will perform in the Sala Assoli with “S-Enz”, a production of the Casa del Contemporaneo. “Borde(r)lline” by Emilio Massa will take place at the Teatro Avanposto Numero Zero from January 16 to 17, followed by “Scannasurice” directed by Carlo Cerciello, scheduled at the Teatro Pasolini in Salerno and the Teatro Nuovo in Naples from January 15 to 19.
Enzo Moscato Award
A central point of the event will be the Enzo Moscato Award, dedicated to young artists and companies under 35, which will see its final performances on January 20 at the Sala Assoli, in collaboration with the Teatro di Napoli – Teatro Nazionale and other cultural institutions.
The evening of January 21 at the Teatro Mercadante will present “Dadapolis” by Carlo Luglio and Fabio Gargano, offered free to the public. This will be followed, on January 23 and 24 at the Teatro Elicantropo, by the shows entitled “Spiritilli e altri movimento” directed by Costantino Raimondi.
Closing of the Month
Il mese di celebrazioni si concluderà con “Play Moscato“, produzione di Casa del Contemporaneo, al Teatro Nest il 31 gennaio e il 1° febbraio. Inoltre, l’inizio del 2025 vedrà la pubblicazione del volume “Le scritture del Grande Infante”, curato da diversi accademici e contenente scritti inediti di Moscato.

And a very beautiful and important initiative for Naples and for the theater. Enzo Moscato has left a huge legacy that we should never forget. It will be interesting to see the events planned and how they will be realized.
