The seismic swarm that, since the first shock at 8:03 this morning, has been affecting the Campi Flegrei area, is still ongoing.
As reported by the Vesuvius Observatory, 73 earthquakes with magnitudes between 0 and 3.1 have been preliminarily detected so far. There have been 21 seismic events with magnitudes greater than 1.
“We have completed checks in all the schools in Bacoli after the bradyseismic tremors recorded this morning, and there has been no damage.” This was declared by the mayor of Bacoli (Naples), Josi Gerardo Della Ragione.
“No schools have been evacuated in our city,” recalls the mayor of Bacoli, explaining that he "precautionarily activated the Municipal Operations Center to carry out further monitoring throughout the city. The seismic swarm underway in Campi Flegrei did not cause any inconvenience or damage to people or property”.
The mayor of Bacoli: “No damage”
Della Ragione makes it known that he is “in constant contact with the Prefecture of Naples, the Vesuvius Observatory and the Civil Protection of the Campania Region” and assures: “The situation is under control. It is right that the community is attentive to what is happening, but the work of communication, prevention and knowledge about the phenomenon of bradyseism, in addition to the interventions to be done and already done, are helping the community to better deal with the phenomenon, learning to live with it”.
