Last night, the police officers from the Montecalvario and Dante police stations intervened in Vicoletto III Politi, in Spanish Neighborhoods, to quell a violent domestic dispute that threatened to turn into a tragedy.
Following the investigations, a 36-year-old Neapolitan was arrested on charges of attempted murder in competition and aggravated personal injury. Investigations are still ongoing to track down an accomplice, currently at large.
The dynamics of the aggression
The call to the Operations Room took the officers to an apartment where they found a dramatic scene: a woman with a head wound and a man with deep injuries to the abdomen and face. The two, visibly shaken, said they had been attacked by their ex-son-in-law and another individual for reasons related to family matters. The couple's son, seriously injured, had already been transported in red code to the Vecchio Pellegrini hospital.

The weapons of aggression
Inside the ransacked home, the police found a 22-centimeter hunting knife and an axe, both with traces of blood. The items were immediately seized for analysis. In the meantime, the couple were entrusted to the care of 118.
Identifying the attackers
The agents of the General Prevention Office went to Vecchio Pellegrini, where they identified a man with injuries to his upper limbs and head. The investigations revealed that he was one of the alleged attackers involved in the fight. In the same hospital, the former brother-in-law of the arrested man was also identified, who underwent surgery for the injuries sustained during the fight.
The 36-year-old, believed to be responsible for the attack, was arrested and taken to prison. The police are now looking for his accomplice, who is still missing. The episode, which shocked the neighborhood, puts the spotlight back on family tensions that, in some cases, risk erupting into extreme violence.
