The procession organized by the Save the Buffalo Coordination has begun, with a slow march along the A1 motorway, on the Caserta stretch between the Capua and Napoli Nord toll booths, heading south.

Two articulated trucks lead the way, while two others are at the tail end, and in the middle there are about fifty vehicles including cars and pickups, while the tractors are on articulated trucks, as they cannot travel on the highway.

The protesters' vehicles are occupying the third lane, while police vehicles are using the middle lane, while the overtaking lane has been left free. Motorists are experiencing limited disruption.

The procession will arrive at the Naples North barrier (municipality of Marcianise) and will go back, going up the A1 towards the North and exiting at the toll booth of Santa Maria Capua Vetere; the vehicles will then stop at the roundabout located outside the toll booth.

Farmers and breeders from the six organized presidia in Campania will participate in the procession: those in Casal di Principe, Capua (Terramia C'È association), and Santa Maria Capua Vetere (Coltiviamo Futuro association), the two in Irpinia (the one organized by the UNIAGRI Association in Flumeri and the one by the Avellino Farmers' Committee in Avellino), and the presidia in Salerno (organized by the Piana del Sele Farmers' Committee).

Adriano Noviello, breeder and president of the Mediterranean Buffalo Breeding Protection Association, explains that "we have been mobilizing for years to defend the sector, the companies and our animals. We know well that the crisis is so great that buffalo breeders cannot be saved if small and medium-sized agricultural, livestock and fishing production companies are not saved.

While we've already achieved some important results through our mobilization, we know that everyone's unity is needed and that the road is long. Next week, we'll make our voices heard once again on the issues of milk prices and supply chain traceability.

The parade to save the buffalo seems to be an important event. There are many farmers who fight for their rights and for their business. We hope that it will lead to concrete and useful results for everyone.
