With these words, Alessandro Daniele, president of the Pino Daniele Foundation and son of the singer-songwriter, presented the exhibition “Pino Daniele. Spiritual”, which will be inaugurated on March 19, on the occasion of the artist’s 70th birthday.

An event that aims to celebrate not only the musician, but also the man, through a journey that retraces his life and works. "I tried to think as if he were not only my father, but a piece of our country's culture," explained Alessandro Daniele, underlining the importance of transmitting the message of an artist who was able to overcome difficulties and transform them into inspiration.

Alessandro Daniele recalled how his father faced life’s problems, from vision problems to racial discrimination in his early years, without ever giving up. “He always found a solution to the problems that happened to him in life, he never stopped,” he said.

Asked what his father would think of Naples today, Alessandro Daniele preferred not to express himself, but he emphasized how the song “Napule è” is still current and represents the city. “There are many songs that still live today, not only in the historical memory of the city but I see them as still representing realities,” he added.

"Someone does it, someone lives off it, unfortunately. I don't want to stand there pointing fingers and seeing what others do. I have to take care of and concentrate on what I do as the Pino Daniele Foundation, because we need to think about building and working on culture and not instead opposing those who don't do it and speculate," he concluded.
