For five years he had powered his home by illegally connecting to the condominium electricity grid: a 70-year-old from Mosciano, in the province of Avellino, was arrested by agents of the Lauro Police Station on charges of aggravated theft against Acer, owner of the public housing building where he lives.
The man, in the hearing to validate the arrest, tried to justify himself by claiming that it was a forced choice, dictated by his difficult economic conditions. In fact, since 2019, he had not had an electricity meter and, with a stratagem, he had connected to the condominium's common network.
The estimated damage for Acer exceeds 2.500 euros. The judge validated the arrest and ordered the suspect to be placed under house arrest, where he was already being held for two other convictions that had become enforceable.
