Naples - Andrea Settembre expressed his joy after winning the Sanremo Festival 2025 in the New Proposals category.
"I'm honored, that's the first word. After Sanremo, I hadn't yet returned to my beautiful city, which I've missed so much. I'd like to personally embrace all the people who supported me throughout this experience. I'm so happy.", said the young artist.
The connection with Naples is central to his speech: "I think those who are Neapolitan can understand how connected we are to our city, to our origins: I like to put them into my music, my outlook on life has been influenced by Naples, human relationships, the way of experiencing them, the affection, the warmth, the empathy."
Settembre also emphasized the importance of empathy in his writing: "I really enjoy putting myself in other people's shoes when I write, and that's something Naples, in particular, has taught me." He concluded by saying he was proud to have brought a piece of himself and his city to the Ariston stage.

It's a beautiful article, but maybe Andrea could have explained better how Naples influenced him. Not everyone understands what it really means to have a connection with your city, and there are many people who don't know what he's talking about.
