Avellino, February 13, 2025 – The city of Avellino is preparing to experience an event of great charm and participation: the “Night of San Modestino”, organized by the Nargi Administration in honor of the Patron Saints Modestino, Fiorentino and Flaviano, whose culmination will be reached tomorrow, Friday, February 14.
The program, developed by the Piazza del Popolo organization, promises a full day of entertainment that will extend until the “Notte del Commercio”. Mayor Laura Nargi underlined the importance of this festivity: “With the Night of San Modestino we reaffirm an event that is in the hearts of the people of Avellino, strengthening the bond with our cultural identity and the tourist potential of the city.
We have prepared a varied program that includes moments of leisure, entertainment and enhancement of our historical and architectural beauties. We want this patronal festival to also be an occasion of joy and involvement for families, children and visitors.”
The day will start at 10 am with street artists who will walk along the Corso with juggling, puppet, soap bubble and fire-eating shows, offering entertainment both in fixed and itinerant stations. A special moment will be dedicated to integration, involving users of the Reception and Integration System (Sai).
Starting at 19pm, Piazza Libertà will host the Bottari di Macerata Campania, known for their unique performances that mix traditional rhythms with a strong load of folklore.
For history and architecture enthusiasts, two guided tours of “AVELLINO underground” are scheduled at 11am and 16pm, offering a journey through the walkways, tunnels and crypts of the ancient city, with free access until all seats are taken.
Finally, in agreement with the trade associations, the shops will remain open until 22 pm for the “Night of Commerce”, making the evening even more lively and inviting.
With this initiative, which also coincides with the feast of St. Valentine, the city of Avellino is preparing for a day of celebration, culture and love, illuminated by plays of light and special decorations.
