Bacoli – The military of the Provincial Command of the Guardia di Finanza of Naples, as part of the economic control activities of the territory, have identified and seized, in Bacoli, an illegal landfill of special waste, for a total weight of over 15 tons.

The operation was conducted by the financial police of the Baia Tenenza, who stopped a vehicle “Apecar50”, loaded with special waste, which was found to be without any authorization and documentation certifying the origin and destination of the waste, without insurance and MOT, and furthermore driven by a person without a driving license.

The subsequent search allowed the Guardia di Finanza to discover, in the garden of the driver's home, an illegal landfill of waste of all kinds, in contempt of hygiene and environmental safety regulations.

The examination of the material stored in the area revealed the presence of hazardous and non-hazardous waste, including pieces of asbestos, transformers and capacitors from refrigerators and air conditioners, waste from electrical and electronic equipment, used tires, exhausted batteries, bricks and copper cables.

The entire site and the vehicle were seized and the person responsible was reported to the Judicial Authority for environmental violations and driving without a license, as a repeat offender.

The operation is part of the intensified controls ordered by the Prefect of Naples, Dr. Michele di Bari, within the Committee for Public Order and Security, to combat the uncontrolled abandonment and illegal disposal of waste in the province.
