Military personnel of the Guardia di Finanza of Benevento and personnel from the Municipal Police, with the technical support of Arpac, seized a vehicle repair and inspection workshop in the San Vito district, on the outskirts of the city.
The operation, conducted as part of the activities to combat environmental crimes and protect economic legality, led to the accusation of serious violations of the Consolidated Environmental Act.
The owner of the business, a sixty-year-old resident in the province, is accused of uncontrolled storage of special waste, dangerous and non-dangerous, as well as the discharge of industrial waste water in the absence of the required authorization, with the aggravating circumstance of proximity to a watercourse.
During the check, used tires, body parts, used oil and other materials attributable to the car repair activity were found, the irregular disposal of which will be the subject of further investigations by the competent authorities.
