Mugnano del Cardinale - A bus of the Air Campania company was completely destroyed by a fire that broke out in the engine compartment while traveling on State Road 7, in the territory of Mugnano del Cardinale. The vehicle was headed to Monteforte Irpino.
The intervention of the driver was providential: he noticed the flames and managed to stop the vehicle and get the passengers out in time, before the fire spread. Everyone managed to get to safety.
Two teams of Firefighters promptly intervened on the spot and put out the flames, avoiding much more serious consequences. Also present were the Carabinieri and Anas personnel, who managed the traffic and secured the area.
The accident caused traffic disruption, but thanks to the timely intervention of the authorities the situation quickly returned to normal.

It's incredible how a fire on a bus can cause so many problems, but it's good that the driver managed to stop the bus in time and get all the passengers off. Let's hope it doesn't happen again.
