On Saturday, February 22, 2025, the Teatro Lendi will host Carmine De Domenico, a Neapolitan lyric tenor, with the show "Mediterranean Heart." The show is the result of a recording project featuring arrangements by maestro Mario Simeoli.
De Domenico aims to offer an innovative musical experience by reinterpreting the tradition of Neapolitan song.

Repertoire and Linguistic Experiments
A particularly interesting aspect of the show is the choice to present "'A cartuline 'e Napule" in English, a sign of De Domenico's willingness to explore new musical horizons. The album's tracks also include "Non cambiano," a song in Italian that addresses the issue of violence against women from a male perspective, which has received positive attention from several organizations.
Performance and Collaborations
De Domenico will be accompanied by an ensemble of musicians: Mario Simeoli on keyboards and musical direction, Vincenzo Palumbo on guitar, Dario Franco on bass, Giuseppe Landieri on drums and Franco Paolo Perreca on sax. Vocalists Martina Carotenuto and Nunzia Masullo and dancers Tonia Carbone, Greta De Vito, Andrea Cosentino and Antonio Piccoli will contribute to enriching the artistic performance with choreographic elements. Being also a teacher of singing and music education, De Domenico expresses his thoughts to young artists: true success lies not only in achieving it, but above all in knowing how to maintain it through study and dedication, going beyond the commercial dynamics linked to talent shows.

It is interesting to see how De Domenico tries to mix tradition and innovation in his show. It would be nice to know if there are other similar events planned in the future, to promote Neapolitan culture internationally.
