Casavatore – Attempted assault on the Extraordinary Commissioner Giovanni Lucchese. The Carabinieri of the local station are investigating the episode.
It all happened in an instant: a boy on a scooter speeding down the sidewalks near the church of San Giovanni, the vice prefect ordering him to get off and he, in response, snatches the cell phone out of his hands and throws it to the ground thinking that the commissioner had knocked him out while taking a picture of his license plate.
An ugly scene that took place in front of dozens of people who would not have lifted a finger to defend the commissioner. A story of ordinary madness in a municipality that is preparing to return to the polls with premises that are not the best.
In addition to initiating a series of internal checks within the municipality, Lucchese has also modified the regulations of the Gigli festival following past incidents of organized crime infiltration into the historic event.
So much so that no citizen showed up to the call for the establishment of the festival's control committee, forcing the vice prefect to nominate some municipal officials. In short, if what happened is the mirror of what could happen during the upcoming elections with the dark shadows of dirty votes always omnipresent, Casavatore risks getting bogged down again.

This episode is truly worrying and makes us reflect on how the security situation has worsened. It is unacceptable that a commissioner is attacked in this way, especially in the presence of witnesses that we do not intervene. The authorities must take more severe measures.
