Castel Volturno: Emanuele D'Asta's girlfriend and mother investigated for death

The Santa Maria Capua Vetere Public Prosecutor's Office has placed two people under investigation for the death of Emanuele D'Asta, the 23-year-old who died following the collapse of a floor in a villa in Destra Volturno, where he was working.

Initially, the case was opened against unknown persons, but after 24 hours the victim's girlfriend, a 19-year-old local, and her mother were formally investigated. The young woman is the owner of the property, while the mother is implicated due to statements made to investigators that allegedly present some inconsistencies.

According to the reconstruction, it was the 19-year-old's mother who discovered Emanuele's body under the rubble, moving it in a desperate attempt to rescue him.

However, doubts remain about the circumstances of the accident. The municipal authorities have confirmed that the property in question has not received any permits for the total renovation work in progress, which are mandatory for interventions of this magnitude. Furthermore, the woman stated that Emanuele was alone at the time of the collapse, but investigators hypothesize that someone else was present and may have fled after trying to help him.

The inconsistencies in the girl's mother's story

The investigation continues with the analysis of surveillance camera footage, both private and from the "Terra dei Fuochi" system, to verify any suspicious activity near the building. Investigators also want to clarify the nature of the work performed by the young man, a former delivery rider, and whether it was a non-professional activity.

We now await the autopsy results to shed further light on the circumstances of the tragedy, while Emanuele's family and friends await the opportunity to say their final farewell to the young man who died too soon. The collective grief is compounded by the demand for the truth about what happened.
