The Carabinieri arrested a 37-year-old of Albanian origin, caught stealing from an apartment on Via Ghiberti together with an accomplice, still at large.
The episode dates back to yesterday evening, around 19.30 pm, when the military intervened following the report of the owner of the house, who had reported the removal of 700 € in cash and by various gold jewelry, for a total value of approximately 2.000 euros.
Thanks to the images from the video surveillance cameras, the Carabinieri they reconstructed the dynamics of the theft: the two criminals, with their faces covered by hats and neck warmers, had entered the house and, when the police arrived, had fled trying to reach a Alfa Romeo Stelvio Black, parked not far from the entrance gate.
However, they failed to use the car and continued their escape on foot.

The 37-year-old was stopped after a heated fight in via Ghiberti, where he had attempted to hide by climbing over a hedge. His accomplice, however, managed to escape, leaving the entire loot behind, which was promptly recovered by the military.
The man, already known to the police, was handcuffed and taken to the barracks, while the search continues to track down the second thief.

It's really strange how people can steal from other people's homes, especially in an area that seems quiet. I hope the Carabinieri can find the accomplice and that the victim can recover his belongings.
