A complex operation conducted by the District Anti-Mafia Directorate (DDA) has brought to light the details of a Camorra organization active in the municipalities of Frattamaggiore, Crispano, Frattaminore and surrounding areas.
At the top of the criminal organization, according to the investigations, there would be Goldsmith Michele, operational contact for the Frattamaggiore area, and Lucky Andrea, head of the Pezzella clan in Crispano. Both are said to have played a key role in coordinating illicit activities, including extortion, drug trafficking and managing alliances with other criminal groups.
Criminal roles and strategies
Orefice Michele, together with his "lieutenants" Mennillo Salvatore, Crispino Domenico e Polizzi Corrado, would have directly managed the activities of the clan, giving directives to affiliates, deciding on criminal strategies and coordinating illegal operations. Among the main activities, extortion against local entrepreneurs and traders, the control of drug trafficking and the imposition of a monopoly regime on drug dealing areas, particularly in Frattaminore, stand out.
Mennillo Salvatore, considered the vice-regent of the Camorra group of Via Rossini, would have had decision-making powers over the management of the clan's cash, the payment of salaries to affiliates and the maintenance of detained members, such as Russo Pietro. Furthermore, he allegedly coordinated the purchase and sale of large quantities of drugs, consolidating the group's leadership in the sector.
Alliances with other clans
Orefice Michele's organization would have formed alliances with other Camorra groups active in the area, including the Arzanesi (splitters of the Amato-Pagano clan), the Caivanesi (Ciccarelli clan), the Afragolesi (Moccia clan) hey Neapolitans (Mazzarella clan). These alliances would have strengthened control of the territory and encouraged cooperation in illicit activities, including drug trafficking and extortion.
Intimidation and violence
The clan allegedly used violent methods to impose its hegemony, threatening and intimidating independent drug dealers operating in Frattaminore. Christian Easter, the contact for drug trafficking in Frattaminore, would have acted under a monopoly regime, taking advantage of the power vacuum created after the arrests of Christian Easter, alias “Picchiastecca”, and Landolfo Pasquale. Together with Polizzi Corrado and Crispino Domenico, he allegedly imposed the payment of a “quota” to local drug dealers.
Logistical support
The clan would also have guaranteed logistical support to its members, ensuring accommodation for fugitives, such as Polizzi Corrado, and the maintenance of detained associates. In addition, he allegedly ran commercial activities, such as car rentals, to facilitate illicit operations.
The aggravating circumstance of armed association
The organization was reportedly equipped with an arsenal of weapons, used to assert its control over the territory and to oppose rival clans, including the one headed by Christian-Mormile. The availability of weapons represents an aggravating circumstance for the association, which is said to have planned and carried out violent reprisals against anyone who attempted to oppose its activities.
Other affiliates
Among other affiliates involved, Amendola Luigi, Nocera Marcello, By Giorgio Luigi e Russo PietroThey would have played executive roles, carrying out extortion and managing drug trafficking on behalf of the clan's referents. Lucky Andrea, Together with Antonio Esposito e French Bruno, instead, he would have coordinated the extortion activities in Crispano, acting in the name and on behalf of Orefice Michele.
