The first edition of the “Love Letter to Naples” award was presented at the “IoCiSto” bookshop in Piazzetta Aldo Masullo. The conference was attended by the Councillor for Tourism and Productive Activities, Teresa Armato, the writer Maurizio de Giovanni and the President of “IoCiSto”, Claudia Migliore.
The award is the result of the collaboration between IoCiSto and AbruzziAMOci, an organization that for twenty years has managed the “love letter” award and a dedicated museum, unique in Italy, located in a small town in the province of Chieti.
Prize Details
The Literary Award will begin on March 1st and end on May 20th 2025. The awards ceremony will take place on July 21st 2025, a date that coincides with the birthday of the IoCiSto bookshop. Cash prizes are expected and, to enhance the city and its beauties, a weekend for two people, offered by Scoop Travel, has been planned for the first place winner who is not resident in Campania. All winners will be offered a guided tour organized by the “locus iste” Association, personalized gadgets curated by Antica Pizzeria da Michele and a free visit to one of the cultural wonders of the Municipality of Naples.

The announcement and further information on the prize will be available starting from March 1st on the websites of IoCiSto, the Municipality of Naples and the Museum of the Love Letter.
Councillor Armato expressed enthusiasm for the initiative, declaring: “I am very happy that IoCiSto had the idea of joining the Love Letter Archive and wanted to launch this initiative of the love letter for Naples. It is beautiful and significant that on Valentine's Day, dedicated to love between people, a competition dedicated to love for our unique and iconic city is starting. We have joined and will support this project to encourage Neapolitans, but also tourists, to tell this city in a subjective and original way. Naples is the ideal city to talk about love".
Maurizio De Giovanni added: “These times have led us to believe that an insult is a symptom of sincerity and strength and that, instead, a declaration of affection is a symptom of weakness and fragility. It is not so: it takes strength to say 'I love you', to say 'I love you', to talk about love. And we must represent this strength. We must ensure that in human relationships, but also between people and their place of origin, a relationship of expressed love is established. Things are said, they are not taken for granted. The love letter is nothing other than the expressions of this".
