Parma Calcio has officially announced the appointment of Cristian Chivu as the new coach of the men's first team, following the dismissal of Fabio Pecchia yesterday. Chivu, 45, a former defender for Roma and Inter, as well as the Romanian national team, makes his Serie A debut.
After a significant experience in charge of Inter's Primavera team, Chivu has signed a contract with the Emilian club until June 2026.

The new technical team will lead their first training session this afternoon at the Mutti Training Center in Collecchio. Parma gave Chivu and his staff a warm welcome, wishing them success for the rest of the season. For the former Romanian defender, this is his first coaching experience at a top club. Serie A, after having gained skills and successes in the Nerazzurri youth sector.

It's a good moment for Parma, let's hope that Chivu can bring good results. The choice of having such a varied and interesting staff could be a winning move, especially after Pecchia's dismissal that didn't work well.
And Chivu is a great choice as a coach, I hope he can bring new energy to Parma. Even though I don't have much experience in evaluating coaches, it seems to me that he has the right skills to do well.
