Naples – 22,7 kg of marijuana seized at Capodichino Airport. A Malaysian citizen, coming from Dubai, was arrested.

The joint operation involved the Guardia di Finanza of Capodichino, the Naples Air Border Police Office and the Customs and Monopolies Agency. The suspect was identified thanks to the Guardia di Finanza canine unit. A thorough check of the luggage revealed the drugs, packaged in vacuum-packed bags of transparent cellophane.
The passenger was arrested for drug trafficking and taken to the Poggioreale prison.
Now the investigations continue to trace the contacts of the man who acted as a drug courier and establish which clan of the camorra he had to deliver the cargo.

It is truly incredible that there are still people who try to traffic drugs, especially in such a controlled airport as Capodichino. I hope that the authorities continue to do their job to stop these illegal activities.
